    Good morning all

Good to see you report in from your new home Lulu, I hope the move went smoothly and you remembered to read your meters :wink2: You are going to be very happy there.

I’m glad Miss Feral appears to be healing Bill and she lets you feel her leg.

Sorry you are in pain Char, I hope the medication and day of rest worked :crossfingers:

I must be getting “run down”, after the eczema problem I now have a painful spot in my scalp behind my ear

Well I have a 50 year old photograph to post when I get up for the March Challenge, hope you like it, it should interest Johnnie if he is reading this.

        Good evening Doug.

Actually, it’s the first day of Autumn.

Rogers family tree has a member who was exiled from Scotland for killing a piper. :)

Quiet day. The dungeon (gym) was good today.

Small steps. Or hops. Hops really. It’s three weeks today.

Hi Annie, it won’t be long now. Three weeks must seem like an eternity.

        Good Morning all,
It is 5:15 a.m. here in dark and chilly Oakwood. No more snow on the ground. Lots of rain predicted for the coming days.

Progress, Annie! Healing bone takes a long time as we learned when Larry fell off a ladder several years ago and shattered his wrist. Keep making progress as you are doing!!!!

Lulu, So glad you are settling in at your new home. Have fun unpacking and decorating while enjoying the peace and quiet. :D

Sounds like good news about Ms Ferals paw if she let you touch it Bill. Glad she has you in her life.

Char, :grouphug: that you feel better today.

        Happy March to all!

        SYL,

        Sylvia

        everyone,
First day of March and although it’s cold and sunny right now it’s supposed to go up to -3 with snow. So does that count as coming in like a lamb or a lion?

I haven’t heard how Max is this morning to see if I need to babysit the boys. If not I’ll go to the gym. I have light housework to do this afternoon and we still have to go out for groceries. So nothing real interesting.

Lulu – glad you are settling in to your new home.

Annie – baby hops but in the right direction.

Char – I hope you are both feeling better today.

I need to have breakfast and catch up on the news so I’ll wish you all the best day possible.

            Good day all,

A sunny and warmer day. 45F is on the way. Spring is in the air.
Next Sunday we go on DLS. Ugh, I hate it.

I took three lessons on the pipes. An aquaintance of mine took up the pipes after retiring as a cop. His wife told me he plays tapes of their “music” in the car wherever they went. I think they’re still married.

Cleaning today as I don’t have a cleaner.

                Good Morning!!

Going from -15C up to +2C, quite the temperature jump and it will continue to be warmish for the next few days. Bright sunshine, so a lovely day.

I have nothing pressing to do but will work on the club finances and do some sketching.

Ellen, the situation with Max must be so scary for the whole family, I hope his sugars are back under control :crossfingers:

Bill, also :crossfingers: that Ms. Feral is healing without an infection.

Annie, gosch, that’s a long time to be stuck in hospital. Have they given you any idea how long before you can actually walk on the badly broken ankle? You can keep your Fall, we are waiting for Spring:) but days are getting markedly longer – I know what that means for you:eek:

Lulu, so glad you love your new house so much. What will you do with all the free time you will now have on your hands.

Hi Sharon, were you not O.K. before, did we miss something??? Anyway, glad you are O.K.:)

Doug, re the March challenge, the scenery behind the piper is gorgeous:evil:

Char, was there a reason why your back suddenly hurts so much? I sure hope yesterday’s rest did make it feel a lot better.

JJ, accidents will happen, I hope it all gets cleaned up quickly.

Sylvia, your weather is coming up here next.

Steve, how is your gallbladder behaving???

QS I forgot to answer your question, yes, the nasty massage does loosen the really tight hip muscles but because they are so tight the process is really painful.

 to all here and all yet to come.

Good Morning! The sun is shining and our world out my window is bright and warming up. It’ll be above freezing by this afternoon.

I came downstairs around 2:00 a.m. to sleep in my recliner again. I’m feeling a little better today but will have to be careful how I move. I haven’t taken any meds yet and :crossfingers: I can get away without any all day.

McKenzie sent me photos of the ceiling in their kitchen last evening. It’s bulging. :( Our Contractor, bless his very kind heart, is going over this morning to check out what can be done until the weather warms and the roof can be properly repaired. It’s always something.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone. My back is the least of the problems that so many people face. You DO make me feel better. :)

Sharon, have you been sick? I’m glad you’re feeling some better.

Doug, your March Challenge is… well… challenging!

Annie, when you go hop, hop, hopping along… :music:… you’re making all kinds of good progress! Roger’s ancestor.

                Sylvia!

Ellen, March came in like a lamb down here in the SW. I hope Max’s blood sugars have settled down.

Bill, like you, I hate Daylight Savings Time. It’s such a dumb concept and yet people think their daylight is longer. We cannot s t r e t c h a day. I hope Ms. Feral is putting her foot down.

Uschi, have you seen an improvement in your sketching? This would be a really good time to get out and sketch all the twiggies on your trees. :p I’ve been having trouble with my back for some time. And it’s been misdiagnosed a couple of times. The Pain Specialist is focusing on the muscles, but I believe it’s a disc in my spine… and nobody is listening to me. I exacerbated it this time while scraping an inch of ice from the van’s windshield. It will settle down to a dull ache and I can go about my days, very shortly. I hope. :)

Ted’s still in bed. He was up all day yesterday and I knew that he’d need to rest up today. I’ll get something going for his breakfast because he’ll be up soon enough. In the meantime, I hope that you all enjoy a happy and creative day!

Yes, and this was the slimmer me in those days.:)

PS Hi Char, the secret is in the title :)

Doug, you are looking very dapper there:thumbsup: oh yes, and YOUNG!!!

Char, you need an MRI for your back and then they and you will know. Muscle relaxants would work but like you they are my last resort. Gosch, you might just have to do another “take it easy” day:eek: :D

Re daylight saving time, it’s simple, there are those who like to get up really early and enjoy the light at five in the morning and then there are those who enjoy the extra light in the evening instead. Personally I have no desire to be up and about at five in the morning but I sure enjoy daylight until 9:30 in the evening. Not gaining anything, just shifting it a bit.

Now, Char, I KNOW you do not normally rise until close to seven, “wasting” two hours of light in the morning, and I also KNOW you enjoy sitting on the patio until late in the evening “using” two hours of light in the evening, so where is the negative??????

re sketching, the teacher is kind of incorporating drawing into sketching, like last week we learned about shading, which we know how to do but others don’t. The difference is we do it in a very short time i.e. 7 minutes for an apple. Homework is sketching and painting roundish things with shading, apples, pears, tomatoes:lol:

The benefit to me, and that’s what I went for, is to loosen up, no perfection needed and yet those imperfect impressions end up quite nice and fresh. No careful blending, just blobbing which I never had the courage to do before:D

Time to get dressed I thing:evil:

Good morning. Our temperatures are in the 60s and 70s right now with pollen counts through the roof. Right now I am fighting airborne allergies when I wake up.

Annie, It took 3 months for my bones to grow back after back surgery. You are doing amazing! You will be home before you know it.

                    Doug, Great photo.

Char, Go see the doctor if you are still in pain tomorrow. Backs are so tricky.

Uschi, So glad your wound has a scab. Doctors here have stopped using hydrogen peroxide to clean wounds. I use it all the time, because my cuts heal in a few days when I do.

I need to start breakfast for John, and then I can get back to the studio to work on my mini tv and suitcases. Like Scarlett…..tomorrow is another day …. for cleaning.

 Up and out early this morning, our day for the Orchid show at the RBG. How wonderful it was! Sylvia’s thread whet my appetite, and it was certainly worth the trip. So nice to spend some time with DD too, and what was even better was that she was just as excited as I was to see all the beautiful blooms.

One special one, out of the many I took with my cell phone (sorry Doug, have tried, just can’t rotate this, if you can do anything I would appreciate it. Have only Windows Picture to work with)

                    ((((Sharon))))

Char, have you tried topical compounds? I have had some help from arnica containing mixtures, and from the Salonpas patches, and from Voltarin at one point. Experimenting as I can’t have any of those powerful anti-inflammatories. Tried aspirin, but not good for other reasons. Hope you get some relief from somewhere.

Nice pic of you Doug, it was a while ago :) Challenging reference indeed, but I agree, lovely scenery.

Your course sounds so much fun Uschi…..of course no reason why I can’t do it on my own, but I enjoy classes.

Greetings to all! :grouphug:

Hiya! Our sun disappeared behind some really grey and heavy clouds. We’re expecting rain by tomorrow. The snow has mostly melted away.

McKenzie is panicked because it seems the roof of their mobile home has developed a leak. Our Contractor went over there this morning and he couldn’t find exactly where it’s coming into the house. We’ll have to call a roofer tomorrow. These units have nearly flat roofs and that’s always a problem. We were really satisfied with the company that fixed the flat roof over our sunroom, so I’ll call them. I doubt they’ll be able to do much of anything until the weather really warms up.

Ted’s having a bad day. He didn’t crawl out from under the covers until nearly 11:00. He took his meds, including the anti nausea tablet. Within half an hour, he was able to get some soup down. He’s back up in bed, but he says he’ll be able to come down in an hour or so.

I took an excessively long, hot shower. I probably drained most of our hot water tank. But it felt so nice on my back. I’m in my chair as I type this with a heating pad turned on.

                    Pretty snazzy, there, Doug! :)

Uschi, DST messes with my body’s clock for some reason. I struggle with it every year. I think that all I need is an x-ray to prove to these darned Drs. that there’s a disc problem in my spine. Convincing them of this is rather like pulling chicken’s teeth.

As for your sketching… you’re doing, to a great degree, what I’ve been encouraging my Students to do. We sketch for 15 minutes at the beginning of each Class. Next week, they’ll begin sketching body parts. Hands will be their first challenge. None of the sketches have to be perfect. But, they just get better and better.

Lynn, I think the success of my sketching time in Class is that they’re all sharing their frustrations, successes and having fun with it. LOVE the orchid. One of mine is blooming now and I go into the living room to visit it every day.

To brighten our world… this young fellow was sitting in the shrubs just outside the family room windows. Ted snapped his photo:

Heat does help I’m sure, Char. I can’t seem to keep an orchid here, managed to kill a couple, so it is lovely to look at some that other people raise! Lovely bird, one of my favourites. I hope the roof is not a big fix.

Thanks Doug, looks better that way!
