I need a computer program to keep track of art shows.

I am starting to get into more and more art shows. But they each have so many dates: submission deadline, art bring in date, opening date, pick up date. I also need to schedule "2 weeks until art drop off", so I can remember to get it photographed and framed.

I finished a painting in March that I planned to enter in the Fair. I put it aside and I forgot about it. I was driving and I noticed they were setting up the fair, and I checked on line for when the fair was, and it is the 1st of August (next week)and the art submission was last week so I missed it. I was too busy working on my "Art for Agriculture" painting due in September.

I need a computer desktop calendar with pop-ups. I looked online for one, but there are so many and they are so complicated.

Do any of you use a computer calendar with pop ups? If so, which do you recommend?

The simplest is probably Google calendar. You can set reminders for each event, and also reminders in their own right and can apply colour codes to each event. A bit of thought before you start and you should be able to get organised. It's also free, so nothing much lost if it doesn't suit.

Outlook will work if you have MS office products. You can also use MS Excel and set up the cells to contain any category of information which is important. You do have to remember to check it regularly. Good luck! :-)

I forgot, there is also a package called ToDoist, which is available as an app for iPhone and Android and also runs on a PC - and I'm guessing on a Mac. As you might guess it is a simple way of handling projects via to do lists.



A more complex package is called InfoSelect which I used to use a lot when I was in employment - it is almost infinitely customisable but I still found it easy to use and used it for everything. There is an free (I think) equivalent called AllMyNotes.

I use Google Calendar too just for reminders. I keep a folder for art events. Dates on the outside...finish painting, photograph, submit before final date, etc.
