Excellent fur, (how DID you do that?) and I so like the dog's expression--"I'm working here. Don't distract me" or alternatively "SQUIRREL!"

Extreme attention to value and many layers of paint or lifting out of pitment to produce the look of chunks of fur, with lots of softened edges on each glaze. It's an iterative process and I just keep going til I feel it looks "right" in terms of depth, texture, and value.
