I am learning that the problem may be in the decoding settings on my computer. I watch HD programs on PBS so not sure what step to take next. Thanks for your input.

desthers.. I use a free program called FLVplayer4free..
I'd try this just to see if it's your player.. you never mentioned which one you're using.

I just played all 3 files and I don't have a yellow bar anywhere.

I am using VLC media player. Just thought someone else may have encountered same problem. My posts can be deleted if they are a problem. Thanks

Re: June 16 Paintalong - Questions, comments, paintings relating to JUNE 16

Here is my piece in Panpastel. I think I need to work on it some more. I think I want to try some of these paintalongs in a different medium. I think with everything Jo is teaching us, I could do and redo these over and over again and improve that way too.

If anyone has any suggestions what I should do with those rocks, please let me know.
My mother in law is going to be here this week so I'll try working on my paintings again after she leaves. I had to clean out my Paintalong room so she would have a bedroom. Mixed blessing on that.

You can use business card stock paper and create hard edges on those rocks by carving out the darker planes so they look 3D.

I finally was able to try this paintalong in Acrylic. I like this one much better. I've only been using acrylics since March of this year.

C&C welcome.

I would soften the edges in the very distant evergreen tree forest.

Thanks Jo...I will do that. I worked and reworked that part 3 times. I also struggled with the mist back there. I also thought I should either take out the far mountain on the right or soften the edges on that as well.

Here are some of my corrections/enhancements.
I think I may have gone too light on the mountains to the right but my trees stand out more now. What do you think?

I darkened the mountains and tweaked a few other areas.

This is it..no more tweaking it...unless Johannes say so.

Re: June 16 Paintalong - Questions, comments, paintings relating to JUNE 16

Today it's extremely obvious that the two rocks on the ice are clones! Something happened when I wasn't looking--I swear they weren't like that yesterday!

I'm trying to keep my brushstrokes fresh and can't quite figure out how to finish this up without losing freshness. Maybe a few sharp edges here and there? I'm nearsighted and this sort of makes me feel like I feel like I need to put my glasses on?

Temps are still high here, so this scene was a great way to try to forget that. Thanks for the class! I'm trying to catch up with all the ones I missed.
(That purple blob on the left just under the center doesn't exist in real life. Promise. That is so weird! It doesn't have a strident purple bias--it's just dark.)
