35cm x 25cm cheap canvas
Clodge is my butcher and I painted this scene because this is what you’ll see if you drive down Ascot High Street and look through the shop window, Clodge serving customers.
I delivered it to him with a note saying that this picture will probably only have value 25 years from now, when he is no longer serving us.
You will see the tea pot and a tin of biscuits ….because, when we go to buy meat, he always offers us a cuppa and a digestive.

I can’t get Chocolate Fingers, Ginger Biscuits, Chocolate HobNobs where I live.
Cute little painting.

June 3, 2018 at 1:14 pm #634191Nice, Dave. I really like the gold in the customer’s dress, it look almost like a fashion trim, on the side and elsewhere that it appears on her outift. is it metallic paint? Doesn’t really look like a metallic element, although it is bright and eye-catching. Very fun look and great slice-of-life scene.

June 5, 2018 at 1:44 pm #634201Thanks Brusher.
The lady represents the wealth in this area, very much a ‘slice-of-life’ observation.
As for the paint…..it’s just off the shelf, Gold Acrylic.
June 21, 2018 at 12:45 pm #634202….just an update.
I went to my butchers on Monday and the first thing Clodge said to me was…..’Hey…Hi…..thanks for the picture mate, the customers love it……’He’s hung it up in the shop…… Ha Haaaaa
I thought he’d take it home and shove it in a cupboard.
