Commisioned Bassett C&C Welcomed xpost pastel

Finishing up a Bassett hound commision. client told me after I painted dog she wanted the BG in as well. Tried my best to use same colours and have it look similar.(Im not good a backgrounds) Any C&C would be appreciated

You certainly got the proportions and pose correct it seems to me. Your colors are also good but I think some shading, darks and midtones will help as well as putting in a hint of the textures in both the sofa and that blanket. You are on the right track.

I agree with TX Rose. Really well captured but without the ref photo, I am unsure those are pillows and a blanket. As you work those up, you'll want to carry it through to the dog otherwise the dog will fade back and the others will pop.
