Here are some new things, they're not all "sketchbook pages" per se, some is digital art. But this is what I've been up to lately.

More character studies! Same character(she's like my pet!) but drew her like a baby kitty. :3

Re: Sketchbook Pages

The above drawing is from a sketchbook in which I redrew a few faerie creatures from my current major artwork [ they are quite small in that piece], I rearranged them via cam shot in a projector on to tracing paper it was interesting as they fell into place , it lead me onto other ideas for another work , I believe that is the essence of creativity .
btw , the creatures are 'made up of' earthy stuff laying around the forest floor , well that is my feeling when Im in the woods.

Re: Sketchbook Pages

First vistit, LA told me about it. I have about 35 sketchbooks filled; some good, some so-so and some not bad; work in many mediums and am ornery by nature

Re: Sketchbook Pages

I love this idea of sharing our sketchbook images!
Here are my three best.

This is my husband listening to his iPod while we were waiting in the car somewhere:

This is my grandmother, I sketched from a photo I took of her. I love the way the smile plays on her lips but does not truly emerge.:

These are some condos in Oriental, NC. I started on site, then had to go so I took a photo and finished at home.

Re: Sketchbook Pages

I am brand new to this site and excited to see all these sketches. They are SO inspiring! So many styles, expressions, and subjects...really amazing! I've been avoiding my artwork and sitting in front of the TV instead (actually avoiding painful self-criticism) but it's Spring, and the inevitible urge to create is in the air. All of you folks have given me the courage to get out the pencils and oils again. Thank You!!!

Re: Sketchbook Pages

Sketches done at art group for people who sleep outside. Number 2 is traced from magazines. 1, 3, and 4 are sketched out of a book published by Wet Canvas parent group, of all things.

Re: Sketchbook Pages

Wow! I never ever think of sketching. I always start a canvas with the intention of making a finished painting. Does it help yall to create more? Maybe I need to change my way of doing things.
