Re: Gray

Harold and Allison: thanks. You know, I couldn't find the right green for that second house, then in my paint drawer, there it was; Celadon a lovely color.

Re: Gray

Notice the composition on the second one. It's dynamic because of that sunlit leaf on the right. My eye goes from the chimney down to that glowing leaf and then to the hole in the boards with strong lines in between that add tension. It's a great painting.

Re: Gray

Do you have a go-to warm and cool gray, or do you mix them All?

Re: Gray

Cool studies in both senses of the word. My choice is the rocking chairs. Lovely.

Re: Gray

Derek, these all are fabulous - such lively paintings for so much gray in them! Beautiful work.

That first one reminds me of a beach house my family rented during a couple of summers when I was little - on the opposite coast (California).

Re: Gray

I like the third one best. The light grays and greens together.
