Classical Guitar - my largest piece: 26"x 20"

Been working on this piece whilst working on smaller pieces. It is my largest piece so far at 26"x 20". There is something I enjoy creating a larger piece that I can't quite figure out why haha. So far I've had a productive start to the year. Included a picture of me standing next to it to better visualize the scale of the piece.

I will be working with a friend of mine with her working as a model to make paintings of this size. I'm excited about it since it's the best way forward for me to improve my figure work. The best part is being able to work with a clothed model. Should be a good year!

Such a beautiful painting! I couldn't help but wonder if you were listening to classical guitar recordings as you painted.... when I saw the headphones. I love that you included the time lapse video to show the steps. The largest I have painted with pastels is 12x16" and I really enjoyed the extra space! Another thing that amazed me.... your strings on the guitar are so straight, yet I never saw you using a ruler or anything else to make them so straight. I doubt that I could do as well! Thanks for sharing!
Mike

Thanks Mike. I listened to a variety of music and there was classical guitar in the playlist here and there. As far as getting the strings straight, I had to make corrections as I was making them. Difficult to make it straight and in the direction you want it in a single go

Cool piece, here! I like your loose, expressive mark making skills. Nice shadow too.
