Re: Back to the swamp! WIP.

This is going to be lovely! Your ref photo is grand, but I already like your painting!

I am hoping when you finish that there will be some water peaking through the weeds in the lower right corner - that large green shape is blocking entrance into the painting at this point.

Thank You, Kathryn!

Yes, photo turned out nicely, I'm even thinking to enter it if photo-contest what they will have in the park. Just because I have few very nice shots to share and why not!?.

I think you are right about that green area, some water spots are needed. I'm not touching it yet, working from the top down (what I do most of the time anyway), plus it is giving me time to think, what should I do about it... I'm not sure yet, it is a pretty big part of painting, should be done right. Idea about some water there sounds about right!

I really think that this is going to be beautiful. Love it on the dark base.

Re: Back to the swamp! WIP.

Thank you, Donna and Betsy!

I'm also looking forward to see it finished. Right now I'm right on the middle and sort of partially lost in it... But this is nothing unusual for me, I'll get over it! :-)

I agree, this will be fantastic when done. It's a very inviting scene.

Thank You, Annette!

Don't know about "fantastic" part, but will try to do my best. I'm going to post some more updates on it later this night.
I better go and paint!

Re: Back to the swamp! WIP.

Hi Tatiana,

This is going to be outstanding. I love the light & shadow pattern. What kind of support is it on?

Re: Back to the swamp! WIP.

Thank You, Tanja!

This is on Ampersand pastel board. I like to work on Ampersand for two reasons: it is great support to paint on for both - small or bigger size of painting AND it is so much easier to frame! After all, if you don't like what you did at all - take it to your bathroom and wash it off under the running water. I have done it, board doesn't care! ;-)

OK. Here is my update for this night. Not much, but I'm moving somewhere, what is already good!

Re: Back to the swamp! WIP.

Latest update on my swamp. :-)

I think I'll need about another two painting sessions to finish it.

Re: Back to the swamp! WIP.

Thank You, Susan!

I would say it is mostly done from the middle part up and still need a lot of work from the bottom up!...

The most funny part about this painting - I started it from the frame. :-) What basically mean - I had a nice Plein Air golden frame in 12 X 12" and was trying to figure out, what will look good in it. This one became a pointing of choice. I Photoshopped the reference to my needs and now here we are!

I'm also can not wait to see it finished... but I better take my time with it.

Re: Back to the swamp! WIP.

Tatiana, it is coming along very nicely! Where is your area of interest? Right now, it is the far bg bushes that attracts attention, as the greatest contrast is there (on screen, mind).
