Oil Spill #1

12"x24", alcohol ink (plus a few powder pigments mixed with alcohol) on black canvas. I've always been fascinated with the look of oil on wet pavement, so this is my first attempt to do justice to that idea and although it doesn't quite capture everything that I'm working towards, I'm pleased with the overall result. Lots more practice on this idea to come, I'm sure....

Welcome to WetCanvas, Alyssa! This piece is stunning and deserves a special place on the wall. Your website and blog are very, very nice. Are those alcohol inks on your site home page?

Thanks so much, Kay! Those are indeed alcohol inks on my homepage (well, there's some resin jewelry and a fluid acrylic piece on there, too, but the alcohol inks have been my focus and tend to be my favorite pieces)!

Re: Oil Spill #1

Thanks for the positive feedback, everyone! It's also very encouraging to know that my website is looking good to outside eyes - I've been focusing hard on trying to put a professional online presence together lately, but I'm still working on developing the personal skills to "put myself out there" and drum up interest and I still don't get too much traffic there at the moment so the positive reinforcement is a tremendous boost
