A bit more development of the face. I love the way lights stand out against this colour of paper.

Re: WIP, favourite model

I agree with the others, this will be very interesting to follow!!!
Hurray, another painting from Mang

I still am amazed that you can paint so nice on that paper, for what I have
read here that it is so gritty. But the paper doesnt eat up your unison, otherwise you should not use it
So maybee the problem others have had with that the pastels come off of the
paper is humidity.
I have seen a test that fineartstore.com had on youtube and there it seemed
that the Wallis was even a little more gritty. I am a little bit tempted to try
the paper

Looking forward to see the progress of your painting. Thank you very very
much for showing us all!!

Re: WIP, favourite model

That's great. I think it's good to try all sorts of different paper to find the best for your own way of painting. Kitty Wallis is a lovely paper, quite fine toothed compared to sansfix; it withstands liquid too.
It's been interesting for me to photograph as I've gone along.

You're welcome.
I like to use a touch of green in the facial shadows; it seems to fit well

Margaret you are such a fantastic artist. Thanks you so much for sharing your process it is very educational. The setting is sooo Scottish, reminds me of my mother in Fife.

Re: WIP, favourite model

Wonderful painting!!

Its fun to see the transformation from bright colours in the start.
Very nice scene.
I laught when you said that you are adicted to the paper. (I have bought
several different brands, allmost every sanded paper there is, to test, but I
want to find a good motive first to test the Wallis and Uart, because I had to ordered them from Usa) Its really nice to find a paper that you really like so you can stick to that one.

Looking forward to see more paintings (if we are that lucky)
