Yep, I voted yes. I don't get around much and there are not many art classes in my local area not to mention the courses that are available I can't afford. Can't afford models either!

I respect any parent or concerned persons concerns over nudity but people are already posting nude drawings and paintings so what is the problem? The human figure is beautiful and learning to draw and paint it is important if you ever want to be able to create your own people for drawings like us painters of sci-fi fantasy art people.

There are a lot of books available and all that but sometimes you just can't get the pose you are looking for. It would be nice to be able to have professional and non professional models who could make poses on demand type of thing instead of hours of searching the net for respectful nudes and only getting porno pages.

I wouldn't mind even paying a small fee, if it were small and a one time deal, to rejister. Kids aren't likely to get in that way unless they get their own credit cards nowadays. And since we are concerned with tastefullness, respectfullness and underagers we all might write MTV or tell people like Shakira and Britney to put some clothes on that are respectable and not trot around acting like prostitutes. I think that does more damage than a nude woman or man standing quietly by a greek or roman style pillar or whatever.

At any rate, I didn't come here to preach sorry, but the point is there is a need for nude models of both sexes for us serious artists.

It would also be nice to have classical poses of people with drapery around them and such like to practice light and shadow.

At any rate I am for it. Or at the very least get some models in bathing suits. And males too please.

Or get some vendors who can sell poses or stuff like the Virtual Pose creator here through wetcanvas and use paypal.

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year to all ya'll!!

Uh, I think I want to change my vote to a no especially if we get images like the ones at a link posted here for our reference. All the posters at this other art forum just thought the links to all these nudes were just great. Well either they are into something other than art or they didn't check the links before they posted. There were some standard male in bikini poses that would be great for drawing but, there were some links to obviously NOT respectful nudes.

Be careful what links you post please. I don't want to see that crap. I am a serious artist.

Hi folks - I dont care

IMHO - I dont like photos so much

- If I take photos (landscape, architecture) I take usually several for one painting at home - nevertheless most of the time when paint it - I figure out there is some information missing .
Copying from photos does not improve you skills so much !!!

Life is life - for me - no model no figure drawing
( and there are so many if you want them it in the Net)

You're right, there are things missing from photo's, that's why you shouldn't copy them, only use them for refrence.

I use photo's mainly to get the pose and proportions basicly right. Of course now one has to be careful what pictures they use since most pictures are photo miniped to get the "prefect" body. Art photos, one hopes, have not been greatly altered. But you never know.

Anyway, I enjoy using photo's for insperation, for poses, and for other things, but I've always added things to the pose I took, like armor, or chains, or weapons... But I'm a fantasy artist

I think it would be WONDERFUL

There are other sites, but in the past of looking for them, I have ended up being spammed by some very ugly porn sites .....so I would trust the wisdom of Scott and the elves to do it right here with whatever filters and safeguards need to be installed

But for someone living on the side of a mountain...it would be a lifesaver!

I just voted a "yes". I participate in a weekly life drawing group but because the model is in a fairly public area we must confine ourselves to a bathing suit.

I'd also like to see body parts: hands, feet, ears, etc.

It would be fantastic to have nudes in the Image Library!!!

For those who may be offended by complete nudity, there could be a butt icon next to the subject heading in the Library.

I don't know about the legality issue involving minors looking at nudes on the internet.

Scott,
Is it necessary to have filtering soas to prevent lawsuits?

Nudes or mostly nudes would be great IF and I strongly say IF there was some sort of monitoring or moderator or whatever you call it so we get stuff like what is in the Virtual Pose 2 book rather than the stuff presented as artful nudes at
http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sh...=&threadid=1813

If this link does not work refer to the 14th post on page two where I first clicked on it.

The males list in the first post was what I looked at and it was just fine for figure drawing and they were all in swim suits. It didn't hurt the form at all. And I cannot say anything about the female picture links he posted because I didn't check them out. The other posters's links were to what I consider NOT respectful nudes as I wrote in a PM to the starter of this thread. There is a link in particular to a site that has art in the web address but there is nothing art about it. It is soft porn. And then you have a male bondage link.

Welllllll I guess I will be the party pooper and say yes I'd like stuff like what is in Virtual Pose and similar books but I am not interested in stuff like what was presented at the other art place. If that is what other artists consider art then I must be EXTREEEEEEMLY old fashioned.

I'd like to change my vote to no or to bikini, how do I do that please?

Thanks

Smile

I was at work when I last posted.

Now that I can think clearly , it seems that nudes should be reviewed before they are able to be uploaded into the Image Library.

I offer my services in helping with the above task, if and when nudes are allowed into the Image Library.

Yeah, whoever the Powers may be, I'd volunteer too. I was all excited to discover this thread and would like to have nude or semi nude resources. There is nothing wrong with the human body or studying it for drawing or painting purposes. I just wanna make sure stuff is classic and there is nothing that could be offensive to others and parents who have their kids surfing here.

Oh, and while I am at it the author and photographer of Virtual Pose sells stuff through his web page http://www.virtualpose.net and he will accept paypal and work with you if you want to send a money order for something. He is also starting a hands and feet series.

Talking

Hi gang ,

I think we should post the nudes - put with a little censorship

A little dot (a red heart ) on the very point

Everybody can study the human body - in case of lack of phantasy - he can find the missing parts in an adult side

Or he could get the missing parts after asking a moderator

I AM SURE THIS WILL WORK

BTW: today is Krambusday in the Alps - more info in our Cafe

I'm sorry, I didn't check every single post on that thread, just most of them from the first persons link.

I just clicked through now and I haven't found anything I'd say was "porn", just men and women posing, a lot of boxing pictures and men in underware (I have to say I prefer men in underware, but that's because I'm just that way.)

BUT, obiously on an unmoderated list you'd come across all sorts of things, both erotic and not.

Then again, some of my art work might be a tad erotic in some peoples minds, though it has nothing to do with sex in my head... A lot of it is perseption.
