My daughter Christine who lives in Pennsylvania took some beautiful photos of rhododendrons she saw on a walk. I asked if I could use one as a reference for a painting and this is the result.

December 4, 2018 at 9:31 am #741002Sylvia, I think it’s lovely, you probably were just getting tired of working on it. I do think a little more variation in the leaves would really make those beautiful blooms pop. Great job!

December 4, 2018 at 2:55 pm #741000Thank you all for your very kind words about my rhododendron painting. I do appreciate your encouragement.
Doug, it is a very complex and complicated flower, so I had to do each little blossom within the larger blossom one by one, then tie them all together at the end.
I have more of Christine’s rhodie photos and may try again a long while from now.
Cheers,
Sylvia
