Pippa!

She was supposed to be crowned with flowers... oh well. I know the background is a mess; any comments welcomed.

Aw! Really sweet. I think the background goes very well with her. I'm not good at backgrounds, either and need to improve!

Lamar, I think you did a great job with Pippa and the background is fine and does not need extra attention.

Re: Watermedia Challenge for SEPTEMBER 2018

Thanks for the encouragement, Penny and Kay! I think I might add a little contrast around Pippa's feet and maybe gray the blue parts a little.

I forgot to add that I used pigmented India ink, Inktense pencils, and a little watercolor.

Lamar I think you did a great job with Pippa! The background is fine - all your animals always have such character - I love 'em!

Penny and Lamar, I really like each of your paintings very much. Somehow you both made Pippa so absolutely charming that I just want to hug her! Very different styles, but the magic is there in each one.

Re: Watermedia Challenge for SEPTEMBER 2018

Hi everyone Sorry I haven't been here to comment, but as I mentioned we'd put our house and farm on the market, and we've just sold it this weekend! We didn't expect it to sell so quickly, and we've begun packing up our house for the move into a house in the city in November. So please excuse me as I won't be on Wet Canvas as much as I usually am for a while.

Ep - Beautiful Magnolia, and the dark background sets if off wonderfully!

Virginie - Lovely combination of pencils, pen and watercolor - love your penwork!

Monarch - Beautiful Monarch butterfly!

Penny - Ah Penny!! You've painted my Pippa beautifully, it is so like her and you've caught her "why do I have to sit here like this" expression wonderfully! Thank you!

Lamar - A lovely Pippa! Love her expression, she often has that grin on her face - she's a happy little dog! And so she should be as she has an excellent owner......me!

Thank you for all your wonderful watermedia paintings of my photos! It's such a joy to be a Moderator on this Watermedia Forum with Kay. Such a lovely, happy Forum with so many different types of watemedia used!

Viv, that's great news on the sale. Good luck with the packing and moving; that's such a big job!

Thanks for your comment on my monarch.
