Re: Roberson's Oil Painting Medium (vs Liquin)
Copper resinate Medium - attributed to Velázquez - One part verdigris (derived from copper - this material is substituted for the lead-based metallic driers), combined by cooking with 20 parts raw linseed or walnut oil.
I mixed one part of fir balsam with two parts of self-made basic copper carbonate powder. After a half of year this mixture became deep emerald green paste, very pure in color (and lightfast!).
Then I prepare a medium from this paste and sun-thickened oil 1:50, a kiwi fruit colored solution. It dries perfectly, and without odor during drying process.
