Help needed please!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes! I've been asked by my daughter's ballet teacher to do a design for the front cover of their christmas show entitled 'Waiting for Christmas'. She wanted a fireplace and tree and requested it to be done in black and white and this is what I've come up with.

This is not at all what I'm used to doing, I generally draw in graphite or coloured pencils, always with the subject in front of me or using a ref photo, but I have neither this time! I don't know if this is good enough, I've never used fine liner pens before so please be brutally honest and point out any thing that looks wrong with advise on how to improve, thanks!

Re: Help needed please!

I think its perfect for what the Ballet teacher needs it for. A nice and eye catching flyer to let people know about a Christmas play taking place.
Nice and versatile but not too distracting from words that are to be added later I would assume.

But man I would hate to be the person that would make an EPS vector out of that one if it had to be made into one. But then there always short cuts.

Re: Help needed please!

I looks like "Waiting for Christmas" to me! The stockings are empty, the presents are unopened. I love it!

Artistically: it's whimsical with strong value contrasts. Perfect!
