Hooking up a Cintiq 12wx to an IMAC?...Help

I have been looking forward to getting this beast in the mail only to find out I need another $100 mini display port dual link DVL adapter,,then my IMAC still does not see the tablet..anybody have this problem?..im running OS 10.5-8. This has really been a heart breaking day..I wanted this to be easy and its just sucking eggs.I had a intueos 4 for 1 year and loved it..thought id upgrade..nope not yet..please help if you can.Thanks Matt

I suggest you contact Wacom tech support. This is a system combination they must have seen many times. I've never dealt directly with Wacom, but they are the favorite of many graphics professionals, and I doubt that they want to sour that with poor client support.

It sounds like you might be using the wrong adaptor. I use a cintiq 12wx on a macbook and I use the $19 "apple mini-dvi to dvi adapter." I would post a link to it in apple's store, but apparently I have to make a couple of posts here before I can make outside links. Just copy and paste what I put in quotes into a google search and you'll find it.

This one simply adapts the serial dvi cord from the cintiq to my macbook's mini displayport. The usb cord is completely separate, and nothing special.

I'm not certain that the $99 dual link adaptor you have is the issue or that it wouldn't work, I'm just saying that on a macbook I don't use it and my set up works fine.

I agree. This is an adaptor problem. With a wrong one you'll get no signal. Ask in the wacom forums, it's plenty active and both normal users and wacom ppl hang out there.

Ya it was an adapter problem..I used a Pro mini DVI-DVI Adapter from Frys..$21.99..Thanks for the help..also Wacom customer service was amazing.
