This has been a really helpful discussion. I'm so glad you brought up this question. I do a combination of tracing and freehand, and really appreciate other's comments on this topic.

Thanks again for all the feedback!!! I really agree with what Diana said about cheating yourself if you don't learn to draw. I feel like I'm gonna keep trying to improve on my drawing skills but in the mean time it's okay to do a combination of what I'm doing and maybe a bit of what others are doing. I think everyone agrees... sometime you just wanna get to the scratching
