This was a commissioned sculpture for someone with dairy goats. My client requested that the goat be without horns, but embellished otherwise. I wasn’t sure it would look like a goat without horns, but dairy goats rarely have them, so I understand that request. I studied the forms of dairy goats – which are rather cow-like – especially in the head and neck to try and get this to read as a goat.
Here’s how it turned out. It measured about 6 inches long. I used fencing and paddle wires for this one, with a couple of glass flower embellishments and some earrings that made me think of pretty leaves with their simple shape. Thick black and silver chain went around her neck, with more flower and leaf embellishments attached. The ears are slim feather embellishments. I am happy to say that my client was very pleased with this.
C&C welcome. Thanks for looking!

June 21, 2019 at 1:45 pm #844337Jenna, Jenna, Jenna – it’s been waay too long since I’ve seen one of your sculptures – you are brilliant and a master at what you do. It would be so easy, using the materials you use, to have the sculptures be cold and static. But not you – you breathe life, energy, personality and character to each one. I am in awe of your work and a huge fan. I love the pose of the goat and your embellishments – you truly humanize your figures – lucky person who commissioned this piece – they must be thrilled to pieces. Awesome, enchanting and totally charming!

June 23, 2019 at 12:18 pm #844327CaliAnn, your comments are so generous and kind. Thank you so much for brightening my day! I am thrilled you like my sculptures. I have quite a few new ones to share, but have been in a making-art phase lately, so I haven’t had time to photograph and post them yet. Thanks again, I am so glad you feel they have character and life. That’s always my goal with these sculptures.
Hud, wow, thank you for the wonderful comments! I’m so glad you like this sculpture.
Richard, thank you! I really appreciate it.
Thank you, Christel!
