I like the warm, tropical colors you've used. They do, indeed, have the feel of a beach. Well done!

That's rubbish Richard my painting is not superior at all!! it is very difficult to paint the way you do. I know that, you need to be brave and let the paint speak, there is great skill too! I think you once painted traditionally,am I right?

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

Caroline I painted traditionally for almost 15 years, in watercolor, very exact and detailed. I wanted more texture than I could get with watercolor so I stopped painting for almost a year and finally started up again with acrylics - tried oils but the smell made me sick. So I stayed with acrylics - it's about 12 years now.

I do think your painting is superior and I'm a big fan --- and that ain't NO RUBBISH!!!!!!!!

Re: Weekly paintings Southwest & Florida

You are too kind!! I knew you had painted traditional paintings in the past though didn't remember they were watercolours. I used to paint in watercolours too but like you enjoy the experience of very thick paint that will create texture.
'Into the Wheatgrass' is beautiful, the foreground is so interesting with the texture and even a suggestion of a fence in the right foreground at least that is what I am seeing! That blue works well with the other colours too.

Into the Wheatgrass. Wow. Can I say once again that I have a new favorite? This is simply awesome! Something about it lets the viewer's imagination wander and fill in their own stories. It almost has a feel of music. Most excellent!
