Being Human U.K./U.S cast

Hi all, first post to this awesome forum! Just had to sign up and join the wave of energy here, there's an incredible wealth of information here wow.

Ok, so after digitally sculpting characters for years I really had no drive to do my own personal works in my free time. I've always wanted to sculpt traditionally but never did it until a recent flood of inspiration.

Recently I started watching both the U.K/U.S versions of Being Human and love it, so I thought I'd start of with a series of busts of the main cast from both shows.

So this is my first sculpture ever I think, I mean other than the sorry looking blobs way back in my school years

Hope you like this first attempt, probably will revisit them later once I'm done to add a final polish. This is [1 of 6]

50/50 mix Sculpey/Sculpey Firm

This is titled "Aiden - Lady Killer"

Re: Being Human U.K./U.S cast

My 2nd bust of the Being Human cast is Russell Tovey as George Sands (a werewolf). Tons to do and fix but thought I'd sure my progress so far.

Sculpey firm and about 1/4

Taking a photo really helps show mistakes.. the camera never lies!

This one is titled "Hopeless"

Cheers,

~t

Some updates to George, still got a ways to go to nail the likeness.

Any thoughts?

Cheers!

You've clearly been able to translate your skills from virtual sculpting to actual sculpting. I don't watch this show you are referencing so I can't speak to likenesses, but I think these look great. About how big are these?

Thanks very much, the show is actually pretty good if you're into lore such as vampires/werewolves/ghosts .

I haven't yet measured it, but I'm sculpting these in roughly 1:4 scale. Thanks for looking, more to come.

Re: Being Human U.K./U.S cast

Thx Bettie! Really appreciated. Here's an update.

Ok... so I definitely wasn't happy the way the first attempt was going, so I scrapped most of it and went at the portrait again. This is were I'm stopping for now as I'm pretty happy with this version. Moving on!

Compare this version with the original to see the differences!

Sculpey firm and about 1/4 scale

Cheers!

This is really good work. Are you planning to paint them, or leave them as is?
