Anyone know this artist?

I'm not sure where to post this message, but here seems reasonable!

I am wondering if anyone has met/worked with the artist Alice Jackson, or perhaps has some of her works? She was born in the early 1900's and lived most of her life in England. Her medium was oil, but she also did some pastels.

I ask because she is my great grandmother, and i'm curious to know a little more about her from an artists perspective. I have searched on the internet, and while there are other artist with the same name, they are either living or American, none of which apply. Because of her age, I doubt much would be found online. as she was 98 when she died and I have a hard time seeing her blogging or having a website. :P

Re: Anyone know this artist?

I sell vintage art and artists like your grandmother are soooo hard to find info on. They aren't famous, they didn't teach, and they were pre-internet, so even if they were skilled and making a living, they aren't often findable, at least for me!.

And, unfortunately, she has a common name! Best wishes on your search, though.

Re: Anyone know this artist?

I did find one that I think is her. (There's another Alice Jackson from Iowa. a little earlier then your GG though) but there is no photo of the piece.
It's called "Study of cockerel and hens in a barn" by Alice Jackson (British).
I goggled it and still kept getting back to the same auction site. But if one is out there, then there should be more.
Oddly enough I am also related to an Alice Jackson who painted but she moved from London to Toronto before WWI.

yes, I should have mentioned that time sometimes helps. You never know what is goign to be auctioned tomorrow. I wait on all of my unidentified vintage, whther art or something else, many times if I search in a few weeks, some new info has appeared.
