I’m currently participating in the 30 Paintings in 30 Days challenge on Facebook. Coming up with subject matter can be a large part of the daily challenge; Wetcanvas’s reference image library is sooooo very helpful with that! Thank you to coyotegal for “Bee on Cowpen Daisy”, the photo I referenced for this piece! A fun challenge and sufficiently difficult (especially the wings and tiny hairs)! What you cannot see in the photo is the Winsor & Newton Irredescent Medium on the wings-looks awesome in the painting! Hand drawn, watercolor (with only the addition of the irridescence), various brand artist-quality paints, tiny at about 4.75″ x 4.75″ on CP paper (not sure what brand).
