Links for Creature References

Below are a few links to some informative, easy-to-navigate sites for all your creature needs! If there are any broken links, please bring it to the attention of a fantasy/sci-fi forum moderator or guide.

Wikipedia - a massive listing of fantasy species found in fantasy fiction, includes those found in books, movies, RPGs, video games, etc.

Mythical & Fantasy Creatures - has info on MANY creatures, as well as gods and goddesses

Wikipedia - a handy listing of legendary creatures by type/association, such as the elements, wealth, the undead, equine, etc.

Mostropedia - this site also lists by category

The Encyclopedia of Monsters - has creatures from mythology and folklore

Massive chart on Wikipedia with a listing the world's known cryptids

CryptoZoo - has some nice descriptions, as well as a link to books

The Cryptozoologist - has neat info, including the top 50 cryptids

The Cryptid Zoo: A Menagerie of Cryptozoology - lists cryptids by category, as well as alphabetically

Dragon listing on Wikipedia - includes types of dragons from around the world

Sommerland - nice section on mythology and types of dragons

basic info on types of dragons

STAR WARS (no creature listing would be complete without it!)

Star Wars: Databank - creature archive

Wookieepedia - creature category has a large two page listing

Note: I will be adding more categories in the future!

Awesome! descriptions of creatures are the best because they can evoke some good creative energies and imaginative artworks....also what has got me interested is the massive list of japanese demons here - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...res_from_Japan

And Japanese demon creatures just seem so inspiring to try and draw....
