It’s been a long time since I’ve done a pour and I’ve never done a landscape as a pour so thought I’d try the path to the waterfall. This is the preliminary drawing in my sketchbook, getting the values with markers. About an hour and a half but it was time for dinner, more tomorrow but won’t be starting the pour this weekend, have to get some masking fluid.

I liked this ref ……. the study is very dramatic as it stands – look forward to the next stages.:)

        Cheers, Maureen

This looks very promising, Helen! I particularly enjoy it because I am currently also thinking about using the same reference, maybe with a slightly different crop, because I like the value set up.

Looks like an interesting project. You captured quite a bit just in your value study.

Thank you all. Here is the finish of the value study. Next step is to transfer this to watercolor paper but the studio is still a mess so clearing a space has to come first. The pour won’t happen for awhile.
