This is my first post. I am a figure painter and I work in oils. I do some portrait work but I mostly paint pictures in which people are the focus, sometimes indoors, sometimes out, with the settings playing supporting roles. I usually work from life and have my models pose on-site so that I can see them in the same kind of light that inspired me initially. I find that it is the most wonderful sensation when I can combine my interest in the human face and form, texture, color and the power of light and shade into a single statement on canvas.
