Welcome to the classroom, Samantha .
This is very well done, you've already a certain level . You may move on to any class of your liking.
Tip: many self-taught people have problems with perspective (class 2) and with the analysis of light and dark (class 8).
Keep up the good work .

Re: Basic 101: Pre-Class Assignments and FAQs

Hi, my name is Reily and I just started drawing, so I was hoping these classes could help me. I think i'm leaning towards realism, but I don't know much about the specific fields of drawing.

My first drawing:

Re: Basic 101: Pre-Class Assignments and FAQs

Hello!

First of all, thanks for this class. I've skimmed through the first classes while I waited for my account approval, and they look very nice! Can't wait to start.

I'm from Spain, 27 years old, and I'm starting from almost scratch. I've attended oil painting classes when I was a kid (age 10-13), but I didn't learn how to draw properly and got tired of it.

Here are my pre-class assignments: The infamous chair, and some concept art of a videogame I tried to copy.

Re: Basic 101: Pre-Class Assignments and FAQs

Hi,

I've been planning to start this class for a very long time, but never got around to it, so i guess it's better late than never. I have a lot to learn and can really benefit from this class.
This is a drawing i did a while ago, and even posted it on the drawing and sketching forum. I just really like it... My dad took the ref picture sometime in the 1960's.

Adi

Re: Basic 101: Pre-Class Assignments and FAQs

Welcome to the classroom, Adi .
This is very well done. You're already on a high level (BTW "101" is US jargon for beginners' class).
You may move on to any class you like (in any order) .
I assume you're mainly interested in portraiture. There is a class subforum in the Portraiture forum. It is read only, not open for comments, but you can post in the main forum, you'll get a lot of advice there.
