Re: Artists and their Studios

what a great concept for a thread, i found it most inspirational - have WC members shared their workspaces anywhere?

Though I suspect the creativity forum would be more appropriate for showing our own studios

Re: Artists and their Studios

Just discovered this thread (again), searching for other things on the web (Clovis Sagot, pictured in Picasso's studio at the Bateau-Lavoir in 1909), spent a half hour looking through it, and decided to post another photo. I hope others will too.

Re: Artists and their Studios

Jaroslav "Jerry" Gebr in 1968 painting a life-size replica of Michelangelo's "The Last Judgement" at MGM Studios in California before it was shipped to Italy where the movie "Shoes of the Fisherman" was being filmed on location. The Vatican wouldn't allow movie production in the Sistine Chapel and the interior had to be recreated for a scene in the movie.

Re: Artists and their Studios

Very first known photograph of an art studio happens to also be the very first known daguerreotype photograph, titled "L'Atelier de l'artiste" by Louis-Jacques-Mandé Daguerre in 1837.
