Re: Uploading pictures from the iPad

Just use the uploadr(mountain) icon and click browse and the "existing picture" option. If it not too big a file the system will resize it. You may get a message that the file didn't go through. I clicked the url at the bottom of the oicture when it returned and it worked.

Re: Uploading pictures from the iPad

Thanks for the help Doug. However I had to bust out my laptop and post my picture. If anybody has similar problems or solutions for posting from an iPad that would be great. I use my iPad 99% of the time

Re: Uploading pictures from the iPad

If you have iOS7 you should be able to upload ipad pictures. Just click the uploader icon to get the uploader window, hit "Choose File" and select "Choose Existing" and find your ipad photo.

Then click Upload and after a while the picture will appear (usually with a message to say your file has been resized to meet wetcanvas standards. etc) now click on the picture and the code will be inserted into your post. Click "go back" to find the image code has been inserted into your post. I use the Dolphin browser on the ipad and just go back to the tab with the post.

Remember you can only post one picture per day.

Yorky,
What is considered a day? Is it 24 hours from when you last posted? Or is it from midnight to midnight?

As far as I know it is simply the day i.e. Monday, Tuesday etc.

Re: Uploading pictures from the iPad

If iPad users want to post more than one pic a day, it can be done by uploading to a site that hosts images. Most people recommend sites like image shack and photobucket, but if you are like me, using those sites can be more hassle than it's worth (speaking as a former user of both).

One alternative which does not require registration or setting up an account is postimage.org You can register if you wish, but they have an upload field right on their home page that will allow you to upload, and generate an URL for your image that you can copy paste into you post here. Just put [img] before the address, and (no spaces), after the address.

Just though I would post this info, because I thought some people might find it helpful.

Re: Uploading pictures from the iPad

Thanks for the suggestions, but they involve hosting the pictures off site which is not ideal. They tend to disappear, rendering threads useless.

Re: Uploading pictures from the iPad

Since the iPad allows only one image per day, this is one instance where offsite hosting may be an acceptable (ie, the only) alternative, if a member wants to post more than that.

As anyone who has been an active member of WC for very many years knows, even this forum has 'lost' images, posts, threads, etc., so no host can guarantee that an image will be available forever, but according to postimage's website:
Quote:
3) How long will images be left on the server?

You can upload unlimited images per post will never have to worry about your images being removed for inactivity.
http://postimage.org/faq.php

That is the main reason I recommended this site, many sites delete files from non registered users and/or for lack of traffic, after a certain period of time.

Re: Uploading pictures from the iPad

Is there a way to make a signature banner of pictures using only the photos on an iPad? I do have the Simple Resize app on my iPad.

Re: Uploading pictures from the iPad

I'm not sure of an ipad app which would allow you to assemble a signature banner from multiple pictures. You would need to make a banner and resize i to fit within the 460 x 60 pixel requirements. If you can do that you should be able to uploat it to your signature.

I suppose you could assemble several pictures and photograph them with the
ipad before cropping and resizing.
