Gouache on paper ,size 8 x 14 inches.
The scene is set on the River Mersey c1933 and is from my imagination, but i used ref photo’s for details of the vessels,
I am finding it hard to blend in the waves like i do using oils, but i still like the Gouache medium.
Dave.

January 15, 2018 at 11:17 am #545591I think you could blend the waves together in the distance, there is a lack of perspective. Otherwise an excellent composition.

We must leave our mark on this worldJanuary 15, 2018 at 12:52 pm #545598Thank you for your comment Doug, you are right those waves in the distance are to large especially in the area around the bow of the Coaster.I will work that area again to try and get it right.

February 15, 2018 at 7:38 am #545596You set the scene perfectly and keep at it as the gouache medium clearly has chosen you.

I have reworked the painting as shownMarch 4, 2018 at 2:03 am #545592Great job incorporating Doug’s suggestion about perspective, which resulted in a subtle improvement of an already excellent painting.
