WDE 8-10- Keyboard Kitty

LOL, I used everything within easy reach -- pastel pencils, oil pastels, soft pastels, and black marker, on stiff, heavy cardboard with a nice texture. It's about 7" x 8" . I would say it took just a little over 2 hours. It's yet another "first" for me, since I don't recall every drawing an animal before, I always thought it would be too hard. Well, it is hard, but I gave it my best for the moment. Hope to improve. Looking forward to getting my acrylics set up again.

Thanks for looking and thanks to Kay for hosting with great ref photos. Also, thanks for putting up with my long-ish posts. Did you guess I'm a professional writer? Yeah, verbose.

Re: Keyboard Kitty

Well done on this piece Connie and a very mischievous look on the feline.

Mixing oil and softer chalk pastels is no easy feat!

Re: Keyboard Kitty

You're right, Toowoomba, about that mix of oil pastels and soft chalk pastels. It wasn't the best idea I ever had; I don't recommend it. That's why I'm looking forward to breaking out my acrylics and replenishing my supply, so I can get a real good white when I need it.

Thanks for commenting.

I like the loose illustrative nature of this.

A great success with all the varied media, very cat-like expression.

She's sitting so well!
Nice drawing ... and actually, mixing media is not particularly easy!
Good work Connie.
