I have a problem that I wish some of you good people might help me with. And thanks for allowing me on the site
I painted a few years ago and I painted on canvas. I have started up again, but this time I am painting furniture. My first project was a metal filing cabinet and it turned out beautiful. But here's my problem. Canvas is cheap, furniture is not. I just bought a house and the filing cabinet was in the attic, so it didn't cost me anything.

I've tried Craigslist and everything is too expensive. By the time I find something I want to paint, I would already have almost $100 in it! Does anyone have any ideas of where to find cheap wood furniture or metal furniture? I found a filing cabinet like the one I painted today at a used furniture store and they wanted $50 for the beat up thing

I would truly appreciate any help. I have searched the net and have come up with nothing.... Maybe I'm just not looking for the right thing.

And BTW: I use acrylics to paint with

Hello, Jumper. Welcome. I enjoy painting furniture, walls, found items also. Really, I see the initial investment worthwhile as the outcome and profit always win out. Garage or estate sales often have finds that are reasonable. I think you will find in a tight economy used items are much sought after.
