Use to denote nudity/mature subject matter A Couple of Trees........finished!

Hi all,
I wanted to show the final sculpture of "A Couple of Trees." It certainly has been a challenge to mold and cast this piece. I ended up with a 4 part mold and with a solid pour, I had to use a hand truck to move it around. I might also add that I had two casting failures before I struck gold. The patination is done with waxes and dry pigments. The base is poplar wood (Home Depot) stained with a black walnut stain.

Oh, I remember these - I've done a piece with "hidden" images in it - never had it cast, but I love the idea. Nice job!

Re: A Couple of Trees........finished!

I like how you used soft muted colors to show the tree colors. The base looks really good cut to the shape. What a talking piece this is!

There is one little thing, a dark area near the woman's crotch and might be muted to a cream color instead of black IMHO. Just a thought on that.

Great job!

Re: A Couple of Trees........finished!

Hi sculpturedolls,
Thanks for pointing that out. The color was a dark brown that I had used. There is a tendency to get "snowblind" with application of many colors. I was able to mask it with a green earth color. Thanks for your comment.
