        While in my studio painting, I am accompanied by Annie, my Border Collie, and calming and relaxing music – I was listening to Michael Hoppe’s beautiful violin piece “Serenity IV”, and it brought to mind the “Soft First Light” of the day – I thought to myself, if I could play the violin I would find me a spot and play for this first light –

        Thus, this painting reflects that thought –

        Painting: Oil on linen, 12 x 24; Palette: Massicot, Yellow Cadmium Light, Minium, Alizarin Crimson, Transparent Mummy, Ultramarine Blue, Prussian Blue, Terre Verte, Raw Umber, Cremnitz White –

            Hud, I couldn’t resist looking up the song and artist you mentioned, and I can see why you find it so stirring. It is so beautiful! And your painting suits the music. Such powerful colors and contrast. Really an excellent painting. Well done!
