A still life this month, part of a Villeroy & Bosch tea and dinner service which we bought at a V&B shop in Germany over 25 years ago when we were touring in the car. The shop also sold seconds so we made up a six place setting with seconds – you couldn’t see the faults. It is the “Riviera” pattern and we use it regularly when we have guests.

Sorry about the red shadows at the base, it is the flash bounce from the teak sideboard.

Here’s a larger photo in the RIL.

I am still working on my version which I started in my class a couple of weeks ago.

I hope you enjoy painting it, there is no time limit.

Have a chance to post this time and I tried the tea service today in watercolors.
I went over the pots with a Pitt pen if that’s okay.

Nice work Lil, you know I like pen and wash. I am stalled at one cup and saucer at the moment

I sometimes use the pitt pen myself. It’s a nice effect, and a nice piece Lil

Doug, Not sure what you mean by “stalled” on one cup and saucer. Thank you for the nice comments.

IC love your version of the tea service, beautifully done.

Stalled means that is as far as I have got.

I like all versions but I prefer what IC did myself I like your version it is nice and soft and appeals to me . very nice .

I have had mine drawn out from day one but was waiting to see what other people had done before I started to put colour on I am undecided whether to use pen and ink or just watercolour , we shall see decisions decisions .

You’re ahead of me, Doug. All I’ve got is a very basic pencil sketch of the tea pot and I’m thinking I may have to stop there. The floral design on just the tea pot may do me in. I’m not much at drawing anything so that’s the hardest part for me.

Hi All, it took me a couple of hours to do this piece. I just love tea sets and wanted to try this! I used 9×12 inches Saunders Waterford block, using various paint brands (DS, Holbein, Schmincke).

That’s amazing in two hours! I managed one cup in a two-hour class.

                            Wonderful job.
