Re: January 2018 Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat!

Not ALL of my stuff for the Western and Southwestern art forum was cowboys and monsters....in one challenge a few months ago they had a handful of photos and one of the shots was a horsie. So I chose that and put a cowgirl in there of my own design when I did the painting. It's what I do...

That was a perfect example of a toque Woody.

lol Virginia, I never would have thought of Music Box Dancer as workout music. And don't feel bad, I still have no idea of what I'm painting yet.

Dianna, so glad you have your water back!

For these challenges I have to keep reminding myself that it's fantasy and sci fi. I've always wanted to paint fantasy but haven't done much. My practising with reality first just kept going on and on. lol

Woody! Love the colors on that horse and his expression, what a beauty. pterdactyls have always creeped me out. They remind me of Marabou storks which once in a blue moon do kill people. I took this photo at the St Louis Zoo. Cool bird but very primitive looking.

I have all sorts of records still, some of them have some amazing album art. Heard a Moody Blues song on a show and that set me off on a whole different tangent!

It's warming up today! It's funny how 26F can seem warm.

Virginia the Stork is super weird!
What is that pink thing hanging down...very weird.

Woody I like the Cowboy and Pterodactyl very cool.
I also remember that painting of the horse and Cowgirl you did it for the Animals and Wildlife Challenge, I don't remember what month. But I do remember the artwork.

Michelle I'm really glad to have the water back also!

I finished my artwork for here.
I liked it. Hubby thought it was a good start. I told him it's done and it is what I wanted to portray for that song.

Now tomorrow I'll get more done on the Acrylic one...maybe finish it.

I did "Girl with Horse" originally for a one of those challenges...I can't for the life of me which came first. I know I did it for one sub forum, then posted it in another (Porbably the Western) and then published it in all the galleries I have on the internet (Including Facebook) If I like something, I spread it around...

That thing on the creepy stork looks like a throat sac, which I was unaware that birds have. But they are descended from dinosaurs, so, what is out? BTW, I wouldn't let that sumbeech anywhere near me.

It's a gular pouch, they show dominance by inflating it. I've seen turkeys fighting (we have a large neighborhood flock, sometimes the males get right into it) and that was impressive. I couldn't imagine seeing those fighting, they're pretty big.

I have some eyestrain going on. I just spent a good bit of time trying to figure out how to change my monitor settings. I think it's time for a new one, this thing kills my eyes. What do you guys use?

I've had my monitor for quite a long time now. It's a 24" LCD. If I could get something new I would go for a bigger LED.

Same here. Mine has a brightness control, which I often use.

This one is big but it's old. I think the refresh rate and such are off. I need to goggle how to change them I don't remember!

We had a very nice morning, then the temps dropped almost 30 degrees in an hour and it's raining ice, looking nastier then all get out ot there.

I think I finally have a song! Woohoo!

Virginia I'm glad you have your song at long last.

I had way too many and had to pick only a few.

Bill you know that old saying
"The only difference between men and boys is the size of the toys."
(sometimes it is said price)

Works for girls too!
