Video; I paint an alien desert

Now that Christmas is over, I have a bit more time again, so I've made another Youtube video of me doing a miniature painting. My presenting style is still pretty dreadful, I don't think I'm a natural at this!

Oh, and here's the painting, for anyone who really doesn't want to sit through almost and hour of me waffling, the cat meowing, and the occasional door slamming and shouting from the neighbours.

Nice little painting. I took a glance at the video. You might want to think about getting a better camera that can take higher quality video. Or maybe it's just the way you saved it. HD video would be a good idea. I know it's hard to make videos, I just do time lapse so I don't have to talk lol. It can be hard to position the camera.

I had a siamese for 24 years, man that cat could meow!

I don't have time yet to watch it but I've saved it in my favorites for later. I did watch enough to say I love your voice! You have a great voice for video.

That's a beautiful scene to boot.

I always enjoy your art and it was great to hear your voice.
I'm a bit of an anglophile, nothing sounds as nice to an American ear as a British voice.
I did get to go to London in the late sixties and it was fantastic.
I do have to admit to fast forwarding in the video, an hour is a tad long for me.
You did do a marvelous work on such a tiny canvas.

Re: Video; I paint an alien desert

Aw thanks, folks!
Lavender Frost; I've been fiddling with the settings on my little webcam to try and stop flickering, so it's possible I've messed them up. I was thinking of trying my phone instead, next time. Might just need to play around with the webcam a bit more to get it set right. Time lapse sounds like a good way to show the progress of a larger piece.

vmrs; my two are just moggies, but they sure know how to make a noise when they want to! My partner's aunt has a purebred Siamese, they can talk!

Talisman; I wasn't born until '75, London in the Swinging Sixties must have been amazing!

Re: Video; I paint an alien desert

I was a child of nine years old but I remember looking at everything with wide eyed wonder!
My folks had a envelope pinned to my jacket with a Five Pound note (lots of money back then) in case I got lost to return me to Bayswater where we were staying, with a promise of an extra 25 pounds as a reward. After a week they noticed I was spending more money than I should have had. So they asked if I still had the 5 pound note. I said no I had a half crown, two shillings and a sixpence in my left pocket and I could get back to Bayswater from anywhere in London on the Underground with that. So we went to the nearest Underground Station and I had to prove it. "Ok we are at (fill in the blank) get back from there. So I would point out the route, the changes and costs of each one always ending in the yellow coded Circle Route to get back to Bayswater. After about 15 scenarios and the fact I did do it correctly and with proper money amounts. They said Ok and let me go about spending my ill gotten spoils in my right pocket.
