Heh, I remember my friend's wife. the day after we first went out together after Susie and I became an "item", saying, "I was hoping you would find a sweet, older woman who could cook."
I told her, "I can cook already.I don't need a cook or a maid."

Great card, Bill!

Everyone around seems to be getting snow but we are just getting chilly chilly air. I went for a walk yesterday. My husband decided to come because I said it was nice out. He forgot that I'm Canadian and even though it was 25F, I counted it as nice because it was sunny. Heeheeeehee, he froze the silly man.

My mom has been sick and I'm drained but my hubby is making me banana oatmeal bread with chocolate chips in it. I can only have one piece a day but it's so worth it. The house smells so good.

Love the soaps Maria! My brother wore so much patchouli when he was a teenager, as soon as I smell it, I'm taken right back to the 70's. Love it.

Nice card Bill. And since you're done addressing cards, can you come do mine? lol That's my plan for this morning. At least, since I put our names on the cards when I get them made, all I have to do is the envelopes.

25F... I need to look at a thermometer to see what that means. That's not far below freezing, yes, that is nice out. It's been something like that here lately. For a while it was getting too warm and snow was melting and freezing which I think is worse.

Sorry that your mom is sick. Very nice of your hubby to make banana bread though.

61F here, clear with just wisps of cloud in the bright cerulean, Supposed to get up to 75 today, hurray!

Hope your Mom is better, Virginia, and the banana bread was good. Heh, when my younger boy was small, he called them "fananas," and so they have been to my immediate family since. I had to stop myself just then from typing "fanana bread"

Thanks, she's terminal but I've accepted that. It's something so many people go through with their parents, but it's really a very weird thing to deal with. It's been an odd year in general, I think.

Fananas sounds good, I am a fan of bananas so I'm a fanana.

I thought I was done with cards, then realized I need to send out more. Rats.

I'm still trying to decide what my best of 2017 was too!

All my cards are sent and all my presents for Susie are removed from the storage room (a couple of them with cobwebs, drat it!) and placed beneath the tree. Susie will be home in about 30 minutes, and I am looking forward to her expression when she sees pressies for her under the tree. She has been acting a bit disappointed lately. This will fix that.

Re: Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat! December 2017

The tree isn't complete until the presents are under it. Though, I've had to avoid that some years. First when my boy was a toddler, then last year with a young dog. The dog might be better this year but I won't risk it. Last year the first thing she did was pee on the tree skirt. This year I've only bought one so far, I guess I should wrap it. I normally like to get the shopping done kind of early but money is extra tight this year. With my husband having his own business pay is irregular and he keeps buying machines.

Well, I got to my cards yesterday afternoon. Just need to address a couple more. Many get hand delivered. The list seems to grow every year.

Oh, and the advent calendar is done, unless I later decide to add things. I will wrap a small gift to place in the centre.

I used my abstract from last year's December acrylic challenge. And paper, stickers, resin pieces, and a few other things I had. I have box of stuff just for Christmas crafting.

Can't wait till the last minute for most presents. Susie is too particular, though I will go to the dollar store and drug store at tlm to get stocking stuffers. That is a tradition, too, getting tacky things that might be useful or are somehow a propos.

Looks nice, Michelle. How deep are the drawers? Mine are just like half an inch.

We are done for shopping, we have small, very small families.
I've been very sick since the weekend. I had 2 days off, not sure about tomorrow, don't want to call in sick but ....we'll see.
I have made good progress on and off on my gift for Michelle.

Get well soon, Dianna. The holidays are no time to be sick, but I am sure you have already figured that out

Re: Fantasy and Sci-Fi Art Monthly Challenge and Chat! December 2017

I used to give my husband ideas but every year he goes shopping a day or two before Christmas, and there would be nothing left. I also like seeing the gifts wrapped by the tree, but he hardly ever bought anything early. We also started filling each other's stockings many years ago. That was something I missed as an adult. These days we just do that so there's a little less pressure. He is really hard to buy for. Since we have our son opening gifts on Christmas eve (yes, we do it Christmas eve) we don't feel like we're missing anything. But I like keeping the tradition of the three of us emptying our stockings on Christmas morning.

The drawers are almost 1 1/2 inches square and about 2 inches deep.

I started on Bill's gift yesterday. Sometimes I wonder about my idea, but I know you have a sense of humour. lol Still need to decide on a couple of colours... what are you favourite colours? Or maybe I should go with Susie's favourites?

I hope you feel better soon Dianna.
