I’m thinking of using them over acrylic .
Do they dry ? Oil pastels never dry but these have wax..so maybe..
Can I use a standard acrylic varnish at the finish of my work ? Does using an acrylic varnish over Cray Pas work ?
Is there a standard drying time ?

Hi Theodude. Cray-Pas don’t dry, I’m afraid. They remain pretty workable like any other oil pastel. All oil pastels have wax them, it helps them keep their stick form. Cheap brands have a lot of wax, more expensive ones have less.

I wouldn’t use varnish on oil pastels personally, but I know some people do. There are plenty of threads in Oil Pastel Talk about using varnishes and fixatives, have a browse through.

                Ok good to know.
I’ll make my own acrylic pens. That should get the mark making I want.
