Re: Paint Out #20

hahaha Kath, I want to see that dribble glass.

Does it look anything like these horrors?

(I don't know how to make the pic any smaller on the page or I would have)

Dana - I LOVE your painting...I think you did an excellent job at replicating the photograph, and your style resonates with me!

Re: Paint Out #20

Not one of my even average ones, even as I was doing it, I knew it was horrible, but I wanted to get involved again. I have been away a lot of late.

Re: Paint Out #20

I am sorry to say this is the last challenge for a while so the close date that I forgot to post is the end of the month. (Unless the mods yank it this week. The usual time is two weeks, I was supposed to post a new pic yesterday)

Hey Dan, living in Fiji, you got no excuse not to paint us a beautiful pic of paridise...only a wekkish to go before they pull the plug on us...

Re: Paint Out #20

Mack, when did this happen? I missed this thread totally. For a while, I didn't see any paint outs and I thought it was gone for good. Aie...and this is the last challenge for the near future? Are you leaving for somewhere?

I've been busy too but I'll put something together tonight before I head off to work tomorrow.

Thanks for the reference photo.

Kathleen, nice brushstrokes, and very painterly.

Dana, I like the colors you chose.

T. Ihrig, very impressionistic! Very cheerful too.

Mack, yours would fit perfectly in the Naive Art at the Classical Forum thread.

Sandra -- I love both interpretations. I especially enjoy how the first has the essence of the scene and all its elements.

Re: Paint Out #20

Thanks Gakinme, I'm as surpriesed as the rest of you. I was hoping to keep doing this but the responses have been down and now heading into the holidays, it will only get worse, or so the moderators tell me. T

hey decidced to rest the challenges for a while. In the absence, I will go back to the art club and create a bunch of still life pics for future challenges, since the still life pics I posted before got such a terrific response.

So until the mods tell me I can start up again, the thread goes into a coma at the end of this month, Halloween night. Ironically enough, eh?

Oh, and gak, I love your entries, especially the goache, nice work. Thanks for taking the time.

Thank you, Mary, Mack for your comments.

Oh, yes, the holiday seasons will be here soon. Now I understand. I'll look forward to your future challenges.
