Re: The Photo Below Is----

I did nothing more than point a camera at the scene. The snow gum is like all of those Eucalypts known as gum trees. It sheds the smooth bark each spring to show the new bark underneath. Some peel off in strips, some drop big sheets. This results in lighter and darker patches where some bark hung on for longer.

This image was brought to you by the number 9 and the letters L, F and M.

Next photo, pick your own letters or numbers but do something to explain how you see it.

OMG, Peter. Never in a million years would I have thought that those snow gum trees were photoshopped by mother nature.

Well, buy a ticket for spring/early summer in Australia and I'll show you where and how.

Not that I haven't dabbled in photoshop. I have also dabbled in darkrooms. Not really into Lightroom.

It is a toss-up as to which of these was my first attempt at photoshop. Which I'd guess at around 1998.

but in truth virtally all of my images are as they come from the camera. It's something I've been playing about with for a very long time.

Bump!

A an example although a bit obtuse, the letter Y appears in this from several angles without it needing to be yellow.

I know there was a thread about finding letters or numbers in photos but one could also make an effort to shoot some?

That's an excellent abstract, Greg. If you haven't painted it already, I'm betting you will soon.

Something hot? That could take us into inappropriate territory.

Dave- I have looked at this often as a subject for a painting, but the camera does a better job on the metalflake that I ever could (for now)
