Cochise

This is an abstract painting done in mixed media, scatch board, watercolor and colored ink. 28x40" on scratch board.

Bump. I don't think many people have seen this yet.

Re: Cochise

The piece has a lot of interesting design elements. I like the movement, use of space and complementary color. The only thing that bothers me is the orange shape in the rectangle. It's almost dead center and I'm itching to see it reappear somewhere else in the painting as my eye wants to get stuck there, even with the dynamic direction of the lines. I see the lead in at the mouth. You've done it with the blue, and I think that works.

Re: Cochise

Thank you, Mikki.

Sonni, the colored part is a painting that I did and adhered to the scratch board so there wasn't a lot I could do about the composition of that once it was done, but I understand what you are saying.

Re: Cochise

Brave woman, Charissa, to adhere a painting to scratch board. I'd have been afraid that it would peel off. Is this the Stone Chief? It's a very evocative work, raising all kinds of thoughts. What does that for me is the lines that lead in directly, but with some subtlety.

Re: Cochise

Pretty cool piece, Charissa. The rectangle reminds me of some of the old illustration work of years past. I like it!

Hi Sassy, I really like your Cochise definately a feel of motion and I too like your color work. Like Ralph mentioned it does have an old illustration work look. Very cool!

Re: Cochise

Kathleen, you and Ralph are not the first to tell me my work has a old illustration look to it. I don't know where it came from. I just do my work until I am satisfied..
