Re: Comments Welcomed - 12x24 oil

I'd like to see the person on the bench more and diffuse a large part of the dark tree which I think is actually unnecessary. How about painting out the top 2/3s and let us see beyond. Your work is just beautiful in tone and texture.
Faith and fun, Yaya

There are no rules in art that can't be broken. Thats is an interesting idea to try and I might do something along that way. One thing you might consider is have more activity on each side, more color, people animals etc. to balance out the strong visual point in the center. As it is the tree is much more finished with more detail and more clor so its gets the looks. Another point perhaps a more slender tree. Just mt two cents.

You could cut it right down the middle and you would have two lovely paintings.

I really hope you don't mind but i thought i would try this to see what it was like and how it would work.
It may give you an idea.Personally i think there is room either side to make it a 3 or 4 painting scene

I wonder how it would look if you made it a triptych by adding to the righthand side. The main tree would then not be so dominant.

What I love about your painting is that I can't stop looking at it. That tree in the middle makes me want to walk into that painting (probably smack into the tree ) and of course your painting techniques are just beautiful.
