Italian Alder bud

One of the little sketches I had to do in college a few years ago. I drew the same bud in pencil, then with fineliners. I definitely prefer drawing with ink pens.

Not yet. Having started using fineliners I really don't like drawing in pencil now.

Contrasts in tone are better with the pen!

Try a similar subject now and see if your approach has changed!
