This is a Guernsey-type sweater I just finished for myself. It’s from Penny Straker’s “John’s Guernsey” pattern. I ended up changing a lot and redoing a lot (and I’m not really comfortable changing patterns except for length) but I think it ended up OK. It’s worsted weight wool, so not as fine gauge as a proper Guernsey. Next time! And I already miss the underarm gussets. If I were to do this pattern again I would add some.

And what I did to avoid ripping the whole thing out. I cut it just under the yoke and knit from the middle down. That was scary but it worked.
