Back in 1958 my dad took me to see MONSTER ON THE CAMPUS (or I took HIM to see it) and I wasn’t at all frightened…I was on the edge of my seat as a scientist (anthropologist) working as a teacher on a college campus and due to some science gone awry, turned himself into a primordial anthropoid….sort of a new twist on the werewolf gambit. I’ve always liked that brutish monster and watch the goofy film all the time. (My digital library is about 85% monster movies.)

This is my 18 x 24 card stock charcoal rendering (digitally colored a nice sienna hue) of the beast from this film along with a publicity photo of the hirsute horror doing what monsters have done for almost a century….carrying off pulchritude!!!

Great charcoal work, I like how you altered it to sienna, suits the style and subject perfectly.

Most times I like to leave these things in monochrome but sometimes, as here, it looked a little flat and digitally adding the color helped make it a bit more lively!!! :D

                        And thanks, Virginia!!!

Nice. Never saw that one, but if I was that monster, I would wonder how his victim got to have flawless makeup and hair. Monster movie rules, I guess.

Bill was a long time valued member of our community who passed away after a lengthy illness. We will miss him. Rest in peace.
