Another in my series of Masters Mashups.
The challenge was to make the characters believable in a contemporary setting while still referencing VanGogh’s style.

The scene takes place before Vincent lost the plot and cut off his ear. That happened after Venus left him. Her own vanity and her Twitter followers convinced her that she could do better.

Love the mashup!
Great work on the modern look and still keeping the different painting styles.

he cut off the lobe of his left ear, but his self- portrait shows his right ear cut (must have used a mirror to paint himself

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment everyone! I paint for fun and I hope that’s conveyed in my work. My pieces pretty much always start with a narrative. The seeds are planted from a chance conversation or observation. It often doesn’t translate to very saleable works, but if they generate amusement and/or conversation, I’m happy. 😊

Thanks for the ear info. I never really thought about it much but it makes sense that he painted his own reflection.
