        A from life add-on.
As part of my down-sizing, I’ve been going through paintings boxes.

This 6 x 8″ oil on canvas paper from life was done over an old landscape, that itself is a plein air done a few years ago. Today, I added the sage brush and cacti, also plein air. The blooming sage bush is in my front yard, the cacti (in bloom–the white flowers at the tippy-top!) are just up the street. I’m pleased to say that the pink paint pretty well matches the pink of my sage! We finally had some rain, which is probably why the sage bloomed, I don’t think the saguaro cacti need rain to bloom.
        C&C welcome!

I like the idea of pulling plein air components from different places to compose a a final painting. Gurney wrote about that on one of his blogs. I keep meaning to try. Your effort certainly succeeded. Gary

            Thanks, Gary!
There were lots of bees and a few butterflys gathering nectar from the sage. I finally remembered the site for the original landscape is Honey Bee Canyon Park in Oro Valley, just north of Tucson, AZ.
