        All oil on board.
        smallish works; around 11×14. Started with acrylic wash under-painting and some line-work with Polychromos oil pencil. On #2, I had to project the image and pencil in the outlines due to the darned spindles…..a nightmare.:lol:

            Wow Derek! I am running out of superlatives to describe your work! One and three are marvellous, but two is incredible. Never has a fence been more interesting, but the flowers well…. Do you ever paint still lifes?

                Incredible work, Derek! All of them. The second one with all the spindles….amazing…I can see how that would test ones patience :) The yellow horizontal siding on the house next door adds a nice counterbalance to all the vertical spindles

                            These are all wonderful, your drawing skills are amazing. In the second one the light as well as the drawing is just stunning. I think I’ll pick the 3rd as my favorite, a charming fall scene, love it!

                                    Man, that middle one is unbelievable, Derek. I appreciate all the detail, of course, but I am fixated on the shadows on the fence rails and posts. Just sublime – restrained virtuosity. Love it!

                                                        Nice work with all of them Derek. I really love that second one, the composition is nice and I love the way the flowers jump out against the sunlit fence. Nice work on that picket fence btw… crazy amount of detail rendering each piece!.
